Reasons why the bending rubber of the endoscope bending tube is damaged or broken

The bending rubber is the approximately 10cm long part at the front end of the insertion part, which is wrapped with very thin rubber. The bending rubber was punctured, broken, and deformed by pinholes, and the soft lens showed air leakage when testing for leakage.

Puncture is mainly caused by the bending rubber of the endoscope coming into contact with sharp instruments during use; deformation is mainly caused by excessive force during cleaning and wiping. The main reason for the rupture is that surgical endoscopes that require ethylene oxide sterilization and disinfection need to wear ETO caps for endoscopic disinfection, and the consequence of the operator forgetting to wear the ETO caps is the weakest bending rubber part due to pressure imbalance. Rupture occurs.

If the bending rubber breaks and leaks, the equipment engineer should be notified as soon as possible to solve the problem. Cleaning and disinfection must not be carried out, otherwise water will easily invade inside. Cause more serious failure inside the mirror.
